When Virginia Bluebells are in bloom, they're really stunning.  They stretch up tall, about two feet, and their blooms are a lovely blue, bell-shaped and beautiful.  The flowers actually emerge pink and soften to blue.

They're particularly striking in moist woodlands, but underneath just about any hardwood will do.

Monarchs love them, as do moths, hummingbirds, beetles, native bees.Beautiful clumped in moist woodlands. Bluebells self seed, and as with all spring ephemerals, they are dormant by mid summer.
