One of the earlier blooming goldenrods, Sweet Goldenrod provides a happy burst of yellow to a sunny, dry garden. It is less aggressive than most goldenrods and behaves itself in a garden.

Monarchs and other butterflies, native bees and other flying things love Sweet Goldenrod, which also is larval host to the Morning-glory Plume.

Fun fact: Native Americans used the anise-scented leaves to make tea.
