Wild Strawberry has it all.  This lovely perennial blooms early, and its red fruits ripen in June.  Wild strawberries are smaller than commercial strawberries but make up for it with delicious-ness.

Wild Strawberry spreads readily by runners and makes a great groundcover.  It grows in full sun to nearly full shade and tolerates various soil conditions.  I've often thought this plant would be great in a raised bed for easy harvesting and the beauty of the flowers spilling over the sides.

Wild Strawberry is a larval host to the Gray Hairstreak, and it attracts bees and other pollinators.
