Our Tree Shelter, the TUBEX Combitube, promotes healthy growth of seedlings and protection from the environment, critters, foot traffic, mowers, etc.
 
The shelter, a tube that wraps around the seedling and is secured with a stake, features ventilation and comes with pre-fitted, resealable Zip ties.
 
The top of the tube has a flared rim providing a soft edge for the tree once it grows above the top of the tube. 
 
On one side of the tube are strengthening rods intended to protect the tube and seedling in heavy winds.  On the other is a perforated line running the entire length of the tube.   Should the width of the trunk exceed the size of the tube, this line will break, separating the tube to allow the tree to continue to grow strong and healthy. 
 
Our tubes are 5 feet tall, and the circumferences range from 3.5 inches to 4.5 inches.
 
To install:
Encircle the tube around the planted seedling.
Pound the stake, either one of our White Oak stakes or PVC piping, which may last longer, into the ground near the Zip ties.
Secure the Zip ties around the stake.
 
These tubes are designed to last at least 5 years.
