Heal-all, or Self-heal, was used back in the day to treat boils, fevers and reduce heart ailments.

Pollinators love Heal-all's plentiful snapdragon-like blooms, which appear in tight clusters along the stem.  The flowers bloom progressively from bottom to top along the stem and have one of the longest bloom times of the natives -- from spring thorugh fall.

Birds and grazers generally spread the seeds, encapsulated in egg-shaped nutlets.

Skippers and other butterflies feast on the nectar, as well as an array of native bees.  Heal-all also is a moth larval host.
