Wild Geranium is lovely in flower and makes an attractive groundcover for a partly shady native or butterfly garden. I've read it grows well in full sun, but that has not been my experience.
Wild Geranium shares an unusual trait with Witch Hazel, of all plants. Both plants have seed pods that crack open, propelling the seeds far from the parent plant.
Geranium's seeds attract doves and quail, and butterflies, moths and native bees seek out the flowers.
