Few trees say Christmas like American Holly, with its deep evergreen leaves and red winter berries.
Holly makes a great specimen or foundation tree, and it forms a lovely, dense privacy screen.
Pollinators love Holly for its early spring flowers, and Henry's Elfin butterfly uses it as a larval host. Holly also provides food and cover for songbirds, quail, bees and small mammals.
Two hollies are needed for fruits.
