     In spring foliage emerges a vivid purple followed by purple flowers with yellow centers that bloom through early summer. 

 

     Iris is best in moist areas, even standing water.  It attracts hummingbirds, butterflies and other pollinators, makes great cut flowers and is deer resistant.
