Pearly Everlasting just does not want to quit -- blooming from June all the way through October.  Its yellow flowers are surrounded by puffy, white bracts, which look like petals, and it's a lover of sunny, dry places.

The blooms often are used in dried flower arrangements, and the plant is a host of the American Painted Lady butterfly.  The fuzzy, black-and-yellow caterpillars can take over the plant -- no worries!  Pearly Everlasting will be back again next season, hopefully ready to host more Painted Ladies.

Try Pearly Everlasting in the garden with asters, Forked Bluecurls, Golden Alexanders and native grasses like Purple Lovegrass.
