Good news for pollinators! Yarrow can be found all over--from Massachusetts to California, over to Texas and throughout North Dakota.
Yarrow is aggressive! It spreads by underground roots, called rhizomes, as well as by seed, making it a great ground cover or even lawn.
Its blooms are small but clumped together, giving the appearance of a larger flower, and they range in colors from white to yellows, pinks and sometimes red.
Pollinators love yarrow! Deer and rabbit, though, do not like its bitter leaves.
If you've got a large space to fill, yarrow may be the plant for you.
